Stationary, mobile and manual train washing systems

We develop efficient washing plants adapted to the needs of each client, both for the location and for the type of train or washing programs that are required.

At Aquafrisch we design, manufacture and supply washing plants according to the specifications of each client. In our designs we take into account both the available space and the type of train to be washed:

  • Subways and trams
  • Suburban / regional
  • High speed
  • Diesel or electric locomotives

We offer solutions optimizing the quality of washing, through walk-through systems or mobile systems.

The modularity of our plants allows us to easily adapt to the particular surfaces of each train model, being able to wash sides, front / rear, shoulders, skirts and roofs.

As a provider of water treatment solutions, our plants include our own systems specifically designed for recycling the water used in washing, either through chemical systems, physical systems or through a combination of both. We also include specific treatment of mains water in order to decalcify or demineralize it for use in the final stages of washing.

We integrate the control of the washing plant and its water treatment under the same system. Counting on the most advanced control systems on the market, we develop programs that are easy to learn and with the possibility of connecting to the Internet and centralized control systems (SCADA, CBTC, MMS, or similar).

Mobile systems

If enough space is available, equivalent to the length of the train, mobile washing plants are the ideal solution for high-quality washing.

In its design, we take into account the train model and its areas to be washed (cabins, sides, shoulders, skirts, underframe, roof), the washing programs, the water recycling system and the degree of automation.

The train remains stationary while two self-propelled semigantries on each side move longitudinally. Each semi-gantry is equipped with a nozzle and vertical or horizontal brushes, whose activation per stroke, in addition to the movement speed of the semi-gantriess, can be programmed in a personalized way.

To improve washing efficiency, the direction of rotation of the brushes is opposite to the advance of the semi-ganties. In addition, recycled water is used to reduce the consumption of mains water by up to 80%. Rinsing can be done with mains, softened or demineralized water.

The identification of the trains to be washed can be done manually or automatically, using an RFID recognition system. In this way, the system loads specific washing programs according to the identified train.

Fixed systems

The fixed washing plants are the ideal solution for a quick availability of the train or in case the washing bay has little space. In its design, we take into account the train model and its areas to be washed (cabins, sides, shoulders, skirts, underframe, roof), the washing programs, the water recycling system and the degree of automation.

The train advances through the washing bay. After a first stage of spraying water and detergent, we proceed with washing with brushes. To improve washing efficiency, the direction of rotation of the brushes is opposite to the advance of the train. In addition, recycled water is used to reduce the consumption of mains water by up to 90%. The final stages correspond to rinsing, with mains, softened or demineralized water. To improve the final appearance of the train, we can include wax dosing in the rinsing stages and a nozzle drying stage.

Thanks to the modular design of our plants, we can program different types of washing, for example, including or not washing the cabins, roof, shoulders or skirts.

The identification of the trains to be washed can be done manually or automatically, using an RFID recognition system. In this way, the system loads specific washing programs according to the identified train.

Washing can be unidirectional or bidirectional.

Manual washing systems or integrated into electric vehicles

Ideal solution for spaces in which it is not possible to incorporate a standard washing plant or in transitory situations. Manual washing systems can also be integrated into electric vehicles, which allows for greater versatility.
